Bolero de Strings for String Orchestra and Latin Percussion, Grade 1.5: Conductor Score

Bolero de Strings for String Orchestra and Latin Percussion, Grade 1.5: Conductor Score Review

Bass and percussion sections lay down the classic bolero groove, while the rest of the orchestra takes turns playing the lazy, singing, rolling melody. Enjoy a warm, tropical feel as the orchestra meanders through the key of D major. First violins provide interesting flourishes with both separate and slurred bowings. A third violin part is included for viola. / String Orchestra / Conductor's Score

The Score, the Orchestra, and the Conductor

The Score, the Orchestra, and the Conductor Review

Known internationally for his work as a teacher of conducting, Gustav Meier's influence in the field cannot be overstated. In The Score, the Orchestra and the Conductor, Meier demystifies the conductor's craft with explanations and illustrations of what the conductor must know to attain podium success. He provides useful information from the rudimentary to the sophisticated, and offers specific and readily applicable advice for technical and musical matters essential to the conductor's first rehearsal with the orchestra.
This book details many topics that otherwise are unavailable to the aspiring and established conductor, including the use of the common denominator, the "The ZIG-ZAG method", a multiple, cross-indexed glossary of orchestral instruments in four languages, an illustrated description of string harmonics, and a comprehensive listing of voice categories, their overlaps, dynamic ranges and repertory. The Score, the Orchestra and the Conductor is an indispensable addition to the library of every conductor and conducting student.

Music Minus One Violin: Saint-Saens Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso for Violin & Orchestra; Mozart Serenade No. 5, KV204; Adagio, KV261 (Book & CD) (Music Minus One (Numbered))

Music Minus One Violin: Saint-Saens Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso for Violin & Orchestra; Mozart Serenade No. 5, KV204; Adagio, KV261 (Book & CD) (Music Minus One (Numbered)) Review

Perform timeless Violin works with a full orchestra! Perfect for practice, rehearsal, auditions, contest solos, performances, and more! Written about 1863, the Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso is a great show-stopper for violin and orchestra. Filled with typical Saint-Saens qualities, it is enchanting music. Mozart's 5th of 13 serenades is a lovely piece. It is Mozart at his best. This beautiful adagio was originally intended for the Violin Concerto No. 5, but Mozart substituted another for it before the concerto was premiered. It is a beautiful single-movement concerted work as it stands, well worth the effort to learn it.

Contains a printed score and a compact disc featuring both concerti in split-channel stereo with the violinist on the right channel; then again in a stereo accompaniment version minus the solo violin part.
